What time is everyone arriving Fri? Are you taking the day off work, or coming after work?? We are trying to decide when we will go based on everyone else.

We thought about coming up Thursday evening but decided on Friday morning instead. For Saturday get together I will be providing honey barbeque wings and DW is going to grace us with a homemade Coconut Pecan cake for desert.

I am going to try and work a half day on friday and get there as early as possible, kajunpeach will drive up when she gets off of work. We will be cooking blackened chicken with fettucinni in a creamy alfredo sauce for saturday night. As far as the tubing schedule what ever time works best for everyone, we could go in the morning and again in the afternoon. Maybe I will find us a hike!

Just got back from a sweat filled Cub Scout camp out down at Camp Thunder in Woodberry. Wow, don't ever take air conditioned campers for granted again. I think DS and I got about 5 hours of sleep through 3 nights. It was still 91 degrees at 11:30 one night I know of. Will be glad to go in style this weekend.
We will be going up Thurs. I am not sure if I will take the whole day, or go in early and leave at lunch. Not sure yet what DW has planned for meal we will discuss that tonight or tomorrow. Looking forward.

Isn't Camp Thunder the hottest place on EARTH!?! We have spent many a night there camping with the Cubs. I spent 2 summers doing Webelos camp there and just about burned up. Back to camping this weekend.....do ya'll want us to do blueberry cobbler? I could also do a big pan of mac & cheese if you think we need it. Just need to stop at walmart in Ellijay on the way up!!

Okay Peaches, I hate to miss this trip but I'll be sweating at a baseball park for the next 4 days, so enjoy the tubing and drink a few in honor of me!

Can't say much good about the campground and facilities but the tubing, friends, and food were excellent!

I will have to agree with that. The CG left a little to be desired especially the bath and shower situation. But we enjoyed seeing people and meeting new. The meal was great. Maybe we can do this again at different location.

I think the CG would have been better if we went in late September and stayed in the back section. It was fun seeing everyone again and meeting new friends (Jola's Brother). The only complaint I have is I ate too much food at the group meal. It's hard to stop eating when you’re surrounded by fantastic cooks.
